Companies like Innolux and AUO expect steady shipments for 3Q13

I'd have expected touchscreens to sell a lot better by now, what with pretty much every sort of electronic device using them nowadays.

I'd have also expected to see low-cost touch panels selling better than ever. Low prices are, after all, what consumers have been asking for on all facets of the PC and consumer electronics market, and what more than one company vowed to attain.

Sadly, if the general goal does get achieved in the future, it won't be the near one, since there hasn't been any upsurge in orders.

Instead, shipments of low-priced touch panels have been steady, and will remain thus in 3Q13.

That's what Taiwanese firms Innolux and AU Optronics (AUO) expect anyhow.

That touch notebooks will only account for 8-10% of the total in 2013 has a lot to do with this. Only in 2014 will the share climb to 25%.
