The last time we heard of the Mall of Louisiana (Baton Rouge) retail store, construction was progressing quickly, with a virtually finished interior and installing of the exterior stainless steel already underway. As it was on track for its March grand opening, Apple has recently announced that the Louisiana Store will open its doors on the 6th, this month.

According to ifoapplestore.com, "the store fills in a huge no-store hole along the Gulf Coast." March 6th (two days from now), 10 a.m., will see the Louisiana Mall Apple Store opening its doors, coinciding with the opening of The Boulevard, which is a new expansion area of the mall - pictured left (click to enlarge).

The same source reveals that the Louisiana Mall Apple Store is not only the first in the state, but also the first along the central Gulf coast. Now, check out the second image to the left. The gray frontispiece is where the Apple store should be and, yes, the palm tree is hiding the Apple logo, of course.

How to get here? Apple says that their store is located next to Border's Books and The Walking Company in The Boulevard addition near the food court. From I-10 East you want to take the Picardy Ave exit 162B, turn right onto Picardy Ave and The Boulevard will be on your right. If you're coming from I-10 West, then take the Picardy Ave exit 162B-A and turn left onto Picardy Ave and The Boulevard will be on your right.

Single women living along the central Gulf coast should really consider checking out the store on its grand opening, or on any day prior to that. Some reckon that an Apple retail store is the best place to get a guy to ask you on a date. Who knows, maybe you'll even find your match!
