Boyzone is just one of the many acts formed in the ‘90s that are still touring and recording today. However, they, unlike the newly-reunited Take That, are not enjoying that much success, which has prompted manager Louis Walsh to dump them, a new report says.

News of the World informs that Walsh, who formed the group back in 1993 precisely as a response to Take That, realized that this wasn’t working out anymore, says the Daily Mail.

Not only has he informed the four remaining members that he would no longer be representing them, but he’s also advised them to disband and see to their lives outside the group, claims the tab.

“Louis has told Boyzone they’re finished. Ronan [Keating] doesn’t want to accept it but without Louis they have no chance,” a source is quoted as saying.

The Mail believes sales for the band’s most recent tour may have played a part in Louis’ decision, and not just the fact that he no longer has the time to manage them.

“The decision comes mid-way through the band’s Brother tour and it has been reported that disappointing ticket sales played a part in Louis decision,” the Mail writes.

Right now, Boyzone still has dates scheduled in Denmark, England and Scotland for August. At the same time, Keating is also a judge one Australia’s X Factor, so he has his plate full with juggling the two.

“[Ronan] has other priorities at the moment but will always remain a proud member of Boyzone, and believes they will work together again in the future,” the spy says for News of the World.

Keating also believes that, even if Louis doesn’t go back on his decision and washes his hands of the band, Boyzone will still be around for a while longer, regardless of what he says.

“Despite what Louis might say, in the end he had very little to do with Boyzone – and the last tour was actually a success,” says the insider.

In 2009, Stephen Gately, also an original member of Boyzone, was found dead in a villa in Mallorca, Spain, where he was holidaying.
