Longhorn technology sounds to me just as 'Klingonians' does to my grandma. But, apart from being an unknown brand on the electronic market, they managed to pop out a good range of features, including the Flash Lite 2.1 software and support for a wider range of file formats, such as MPEG-4, DivX and XviD for the video media content and many more.

Besides that, there is also compatibility for the most common files in the industry, such as MP3, WMA, WAV as well as photo formats decoding option from JPEG, BMP, GIF, PNG and even Powerpoint.

Few other devices of its kind on the market can also convert DVD, TV, VCR and DV input to ASF/AFI format and does the same for the content encrypted on CDs, MP3s, MIC files directly to WAV format.

In addition, the PMP M-28 is said to handle both NTSC and PAL formats, not to mention it can also do some AV-output as well, meaning you'll able to see the videos on the largest screen in your living room. Moreover, if it matters anymore, the device was equipped with an FM tuner with a maximum of about 20 presets.

The portable media player comes with lyric display and e-book reader functionality. If needed, the user can also use some of the extra features in the technical list, such as a calculator, resuming play, slideshow with background music and a calendar. Too bad there is no word about the player's dimension, screen display size or about the interface.

However, for reasons unknown, I am under the impression that Longhorn has a lot of work to do until being strong enough to compete with the Chinese clones.

As wacky as it may sound, if you're interested in buying one of these, there is a minimum order of about 500 pieces.
