Malaysian MP Bung Mokhtar Radin is now getting loads of media attention, and has just one tweet to thank for the fact that he is making headlines.

The tweet in question, visible in the photo above, was shared with the online community by the politician himself shortly after Germany's win over Brazil in this year's FIFA World Cup.

“WELL DONE... BRAVO... LONG LIVE HITLER...,” the tweet reads. Apparently, the Malaysian MP wrote this message looking to congratulate Germany and its football team.

According to Huffington Post, it did not take long for the tweet to go viral, and soon enough Bung Mokhtar Radin found himself the subject of heavy criticism.

Word has it that, despite all the outrage his tweet has sparked on social networking sites and in the media, the Malaysian MP is still quite convinced that he did nothing wrong when posting this message.

“Hitler is part of history and the German team fought like how he did,” Bung Mokhtar Radin defends his decision to use the dictator's name in what was supposed to be a congratulatory message.

Unfortunately for this politician, both Germany and the rest of the world are yet to see things his way.

Thus, in a statement, German Ambassador to Malaysia, Holger Michael says, “While we appreciate the admiration for the German football team, we strongly reject the unacceptable allusion to the fascist regime of Adolf Hitler.”
