Lollipop Chainsaw is coming this summer and, in order to get the hype going, Warner Bros. and Grasshopper Manufacture have posted a new video of the hack and slash game, this time focusing on its soundtrack, which has also been revealed.

Lollipop Chainsaw is definitely one of the most outlandish titles that appear this summer, telling the story of high school cheerleader Juliet Starling who must fulfill her destiny as zombie hunter and save her San Romero High from the undead horde.

As you can imagine, the soundtrack for such an adventure needs to fit the story. In order to shed some light on the process, a new video has appeared, in which Grasshopper composer Akira Yamaoka and Mindless Self Indulgence’s Jimmy Urine talk about the game.

“What is the exact soundtrack to a zombie massacre? In scoring the upcoming game Lollipop Chainsaw, Jimmy Urine and Akira Yamaoka had to address these types of questions,” Warner Bros. said about the video.

“When Juliet rips through a decaying zombie torso with her trusty chainsaw, would Sleigh Bells fit better than Sinatra? Or should it be an original composition? In this behind the scenes video, Jimmy and Akira discuss the various influences that go into scoring a game with such a strong visual and creative style and the aesthetic basis from which the soundtrack was compiled.”

Besides lots of original tracks, plenty of licensed songs are also going to be featured in Lollipop Chainsaw, so check them out in the list below.
