It connects to the PC via Universal Serial Bus instead of the usual 3.5 mm jack

Headphones can have different capabilities depending on the sort of applications they are made for and the price range they need to sell under. The model that Logitech just released is quite unusual in that it doesn't use the normal type of connector but is not wireless either.

Instead of Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, or even a regular 3.5mm cable, the Logitech H570e boasts a universal serial bus controller.

It can also sell in stereo mode and mono. The former provides a measure of noise isolation, enough to understand what the one at the other end of your (video) call is saying. The latter don't isolate surrounding noise at all, which is useful in highly interactive / group-based work environments.

Unfortunately, that also means that the ones preferring the former will have to pay a bit more than those who get the latter. The Logitech USB Headset H570e mono bears a tag of $45 / €33.5, while the stereo version ships for $49.99 / €49.99.

Other than that, the new headset has an adjustable padded headband with metal reinforcement, plus leatherette ear pads that can be cleaned or replaced easily. Finally, an in-line volume control is included as well, with volume up/down, microphone mute, and call answer/end switches.

In Logitech's opinion, the H570e will show its worth best when used in Microsoft Lync, Cisco Jabber, Skype, and other UC platforms.
