14 DAY TRIAL // Pencast Player is now available for free download for owners of an iOS device. The application, developed by Livescribe Inc., is an easy-to-use tool that allows you to download, view and play your smartpen notes, audio recordings, or interactive pencasts.
Livescribe Inc., known for their award-winning Echo and Pulse smartpens, announced the of the Pencast Player application for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch in a report dated September 13, 2010.
Basically, the software enables users to access a digital copy of their synchronized notes and audio as pencasts from their iDevice.
The content is portable and playable when you need it, Livescribe says.
“Livescribe’s Echo and Pulse smartpens capture everything consumers hear and write and provide easy access to important information by simply tapping on written notes directly on paper, on a computer using the Livescribe Desktop software or on an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch running the Pencast Player app,” the company explains.
“Fast information access is a key advantage of the Livescribe platform,” said Byron Connell, Livescribe chief marketing officer.
“Pencast Player lets consumers access their written and spoken information on the go with their favorite Apple products.”
Whether or not they have a smartpen or a MyLivescribe account, Pencast Player allows anyone to access pencasts posted on Livescribe’s online community.
To access content from their Apple device, including pencasts uploaded to their 500 MB of personal storage, users must have a MyLivescribe account.
“Pencast Player further advances interoperability between the Apple and Livescribe platforms. It enables consumers to reap the benefits of both smartpen and smartphone technology in one seamless experience,” Livescribe adds.
Available immediately, Pencast Player is free to download from the iTunes App Store. It is compatible with all iOS devices running iOS 3.2 or higher and all iPhone and iTouch devices with iOS 4.0 or higher and requires iTunes 9.2 or higher.
Smartpens, including the 4GB Echo smartpen ($169.95), the 8GB Echo smartpen ($199.95) and the 2GB Pulse smartpen ($129.95), dot paper and accessories are available at Best Buy, Amazon.com, Apple, Staples, Target and online at Livescribe.com.
