Canadian mobile phone maker Research In Motion is expected to bring to the market in the near future some pretty appealing new smartphones, including the so called BlackBerry Bold Touch, which was spotted previously into the wild as Montana / Dakota, and which emerged recently in a series of leaked live photos.

Previous reports on this device pointed at a possible launch under the Bold branding, and it seems that things might have been already carved in stone on this, a recently spotted leaked roadmap from the company unveiled.

The said BlackBerry Bold Touch should hit the shelves with a combination of touchscreen display (a 2.8-inch screen that boasts a 640 x 480 pixels resolution) and physical QWERTY keyboard in a candybar form factor.

In addition to bringing to the spotlight the first live photos with the new mobile phone, which is still unofficial, the guys over at N4BB also managed to confirm some of its specs, and to unveil some more of them.

The phone should arrive on shelves with a 5-megapixel photo snapper, along with magnetometer, accelerometer and proximity sensor, and NFC capabilities. Moreover, it would be wrapped up in carbon fiber when available.

They also suggest that RIM might have packed the phone with 6.5GB of Flash memory, and with 512MB of RAM (previously, the phone was rumored to arrive with 8GB of internal memory, and with 768MB of RAM).

The BlackBerry Bold Touch should run under the BlackBerry OS 6.1 when made available for purchase. Other details on the smartphone lack at the moment, but more on it might surface as the release date approaches.

While no official confirmation on this emerged for the time being, rumor has it that RIM would intend to put the phone on shelves sometime in August this year.

We'll still have to wait a few months more for the first touchscreen Bold smartphone to arrive on the market, but it seems that it will be worthwhile. Stay tuned for more info on the matter.
