Promotion at its best

The PlayStation 3 has suffered for quite some time from lack of quality games, though titles like Resistance: Fall of Man, Motorstorm, Uncharted or Metal Gear Solid 4 have struggled to show that, first and foremost, the PS3 is a gaming console, and then a media hub.

But now it seems that things are beginning to look up, as a variety of quality, triple A titles are going to reach the PS3 this holiday season. Among them, LittleBigPlanet was set to become a very popular title for Sony's console, but sales haven't really confirmed that. Although Sony, which is also the publisher of LBP, has said that the title will get better in time, it does want LBP to become the best seller of the holiday season.

That's why it has heavily promoted the game after its launch, through a variety of DLC (Downloadable Content) packs that consisted primarily of costumes for the SackBoy or SackGirl found in the game. We've seen some themed on Halloween or Thanksgiving, but now an announcement appeared on a Spanish PS3 community website talks about four costumes based on the characters from Street Fighter.

These will make the SackBoy or Girl look like Zangief, Chun Li, Ryu and Guile from the famous fighting franchise. Undoubtedly, this pack will mark the recent launch of the Super Street Fighter II HD Remix game, which was one of the most expected arcade titles for the PS3, and build up hype for the launch of Street Fighter IV, which will happen in February next year.

Although this might seem like a valid announcement, neither Sony nor Media Molecule, the developer of the game, announced the existence of this pack. So until we get the official word on these new costumes, let's just play Street Fighter II HD and hope that this pretty interesting DLC will appear on the PlayStation Network.
