Getting into the Christmas spirit

LittleBigPlanet is certainly one of the most innovative titles that have appeared this year. It won over the hearts and minds of quite a lot of people when it was first introduced by Sony, and, although it didn’t have a good start, it still hasn't lost the confidence of the Japanese company, which expects to sell a lot of copies this holiday season.

The game, which promises to take user creativity to a whole new level, gives players the ability to completely control and customize the environment around them, by using their own SackBoy or SackGirl character. Its developer, Media Molecule, hopes that the title will get better as time goes by, and as more and more content will be delivered to the fun puzzle platformer.

In order to keep users interested in this game, a lot of goodies have been launched onto the PlayStation Network online service, in the form of DLC (Downloadable Content). Up until now, we have only seen different types of SackBoy or Girl costumes, which celebrated Thanksgiving and other themed content packs.

But now, Sony has just announced that tomorrow, gamers will see the first Level Pack for LittleBigPlanet. But don't get your hopes up, as this new batch of content won't include actual levels made by the developers, but new additions to the level creator that players can use and two themed costumes, in order for the users' SackBoy or Girl to get into the Christmas spirit. Here's what this new DLC pack will contain, as found on the PlayStation Blog:

“-Two new Costumes: Christmas Tree headpiece and a Wrapped Sackboy. -One new Create Material: Wrapping Paper (cardboard without giftwrap texture). -Two new Objects: A Festive Sleigh and holiday themed light.  -Six new Decorations: A Festive Bauble, Bell, Wrapping Bow, Candy Cane, Card and Stocking.  -A ton of new Stickers: holiday themed of course, including a Red Nose Reindeer, Elves, Turkey images and many more.”

It does seem that Media Molecule really wants its customers to get into the holiday spirit, and, with this whole pack being priced at 2.99 dollars, the offer is very tempting for a lot of LBP owners. But you should really hurry, as the pack will be available until January 8, 2009.
