It might not yet be officially announced but there are already details out about LittleBigPlanet 2 with the main claim being the new videogame from Media Molecule will allow players to create complete customizable gaming experiences no longer confined to the platforming genre. Apparently, one developer even managed to make a replica of the original Command & Conquer using the tools LittleBigPlanet 2 offers.

All the information is from Game Informer, the gaming magazine coming from GameStop. Information from a big feature in the upcoming issues has been posted online and the new LittleBigPlanet is said to feature an editing engine powerful enough to allow the creation of shooters, arcade games, platformers, racing titles, puzzles and even role playing games. Players can use the editor to change anything from the structure of the game they are making to the way information is displayed on the screen. LittleBigPlanet 2 is also set to feature new enemies, called Sackbots, which can be fully programmed to act in a variety of ways, depending on the type of adventure being created. The preview also promises that the development team at Media Molecule is working on adding new gadgets and tools to the game while making sure that all the downloadable content offered for the first title will be fully accessible in the sequel for those who bought them.

The Game Informer preview also says that Media Molecule is working hard on making an engaging single player campaign, basing levels not on countries but on periods of time like the Renaissance or the Industrial Revolution. Sony has not commented on the details leaked in the press but those who loved the first LittleBigPlanet can look forward to an official reveal before or at the company’s E3 presentation.
