14 DAY TRIAL // Demi Moore is out of rehab and keeping a low profile, trying to get her life back on track. In the meantime, Lisa Marie Presley and Kelly Preston are trying to convince her to ditch Kabbalah and to join the Church of Scientology instead, a new report claims.
For years, Demi has been a member of Kabbalah, at one point, even turning to counseling at the LA Center in the hope that it might save her marriage to actor Ashton Kutcher.
Now, she might be switching sides, a new report in the print issue of The Enquirer claims (story via here).
If Kelly and Lisa Marie, prominent members of Scientology and good friends of Demi's, have their way, this might even happen very soon.
The two have reached out to Demi shortly after she completed her treatment in rehab (she's believed to have received help for a drug addiction and an eating disorder), telling her that her alcohol and drug issues could be better kept under control if she became a Scientologist.
Since Demi is now focusing exclusively on her health, there is actually a good chance for her to ditch Kabbalah to join her friends and many other A-listers in Scientology.
“Demi was truly touched that Kelly and Lisa Marie had her in their thoughts. Her number one priority is to get healthy, and she needs all the friends she can get right now,” an insider is quoted as saying.
“The three remained casual friends, and Kelly has been especially concerned because she and Demi go way back. Kelly called Demi while she was in rehab,” the spy continues.
“After Demi was discharged, Kelly and Lisa Marie talked to her on a conference call. They didn’t bring up Scientology per se, but they did tell Demi that she needed strong, supportive women in her life. Demi was into it, and a girl’s-only lunch is in the works,” the insider further says.
The plan, for the time being, is to get Demi into a Scientology-approved program that should help her stay clean of drugs, the report argues, based on the statement of the same unnamed source.
“Kelly and Lisa Marie’s goal is to get Demi involved in the Scientology-based Narconon drug treatment program to maintain her sobriety,” says the spy.
As per the tab, Narconon is a “controversial” program, which aims to help addicts battle and conquer their demons by easing drug cravings through exercise, vitamins and saunas.
