Stone Temple Pilots were left frontman-less this February when Scott Weiland, who was also the founder of the band, was out of the picture. A replacement has been found in the person of Chester Bennington.
Chester doesn’t need any introduction but, in case you can’t put a name to his face, know that he’s also the frontman of Linkin Park.
He’s not out of his band though, NME assures fans: he will be performing with STP when his work with Linkin Park allows him to.
“Chester has a one-of-a-kind voice that we’ve admired for a long time. We know Linkin Park will always be his priority, but we thought it would be cool to try something together. We managed to find the time to record a song and we’re all really happy with the result,” a message on the STP website reads.
Bennington has also confirmed the collaboration, describing it as a dream come true since he’s been a fan of the Pilots since he was still a kid, more or less.
The Pilots will be seen in the new format at the end of the month, on May 30, when they’ll perform in Los Angeles.
