Since people are becoming more aware of the fact that “failed delivery” or “failed transaction” emails always hide something malicious, scammers started sending these emails with subjects that would make the recipients more curios.

“So now you’re on LinkedIn: What’s next?” reads the subject of the latest ACH scam.

The rest is not so different from other emails that rely on NACHA or ACH to lure users into clicking on links that point to webpages with JavaScript-based malware, reports Commtouch Cafe.

Internet users are advised to stay clear of such messages and even if they open them to see how a LinkedIn account was created on their behalf, once they see the failed delivery notice, the email should be deleted immediately.

Crooks will start coming up with new ways to spread their campaigns, so no one should be surprised if the classic ACH spam starts coming with all sorts of ludicrous allegations.
