In case you have nothing to do with contemporary music playing whatsoever and names like Line6 or Marshall tell you nothing, you'd better turn the page to other news. But if you know what serious rockin' is all about and are a music gear afficionado, then this bite's for you.

After all these years, more than 25, Dave Mustaine (Megadeth) has become a living legend for the rockers and his music, style and example have become a model for many youngsters looking to grow and see the bright stage lights.

Now, it seems like times change a bit inside people as well and Mustaine decided to actually depart from Dean guitars as he stated in early December last year. So far there was no news on where he would go but now it's official: Dave Mustaine will play on Dean guitars and has cut a deal with Dean to revive many of the old models that have made history.

Mustaine will most likely keep his impressive guitar collection containing a lot of Jackson guitars but it's most likely that on the promo tour for United Abominations, Megadeth's newest album, we'll see mostly Deans.

Even more, Mustaine decided to take a step further and signed with Line6, one of the leading names in the modeling amplifiers industry for a signature guitar amp he promised to not only carry with him on the world tour but also play it like hell (or heaven, if you wish). The new Line6 amp was developed in collaboration with Dave Mustaine and the latest Megadeth album was recorded using it.

So far there are no detailed specs (let alone demo tracks) for the new amp and the only things you can find out about the new toy come from Dave himself in this movie. Having switched from a Marshall amp he previously used, Mustaine and Line6 modeled the new blaster upon a Marshall '67 Plexi. The new Line6 comes with 4 channels, Clean, Signature (Dave's tone), Mega Drive and Plexi.

It sports onboard processing effects and a tap tempo button for instant configuration of the delays and many other effects such as Phaser modeled after Eddie Van Halen's famous phase work, Tremolo based on The Beatles, Flange based on the work of Alex Lifeson.

As Mustaine claims, the new Line6 amp is several times lighter than the Marshall he was using while delivering the same power. There are rumors stating that the Line6 Dave Mustaine Signature amp could actually go in mass production, but only time will tell. As for the diehard rockers who want to get a glimpse on how the new amp sounds, catch Megadeth around the globe in their world tour for United Abominations.
