Lindsay Lohan has had one too many “second chances” already, according to some media insiders, but she’s not ready yet to throw in the towel. Though she’s said it before, many times, she is now trying to make a movie comeback, again. Again.

The actress is now in London, where she’s doing the stage play “Speed the Plow.” Once this ends, on November 29, she plans on moving back to Los Angeles to kickstart her acting career, which has been pretty much dead in the water for years.

She already has 3 projects lined up, which IMDB confirms as being in pre-production: “Soul Carriers,” “Six Gun Dead,” and “Life Travelers,” besides “Inconceivable,” which has been delayed indefinitely.

Lindsay is reformed, wants to be taken seriously again

Lindsay Lohan has had a very rough while: she hasn’t had a successful, well received movie in years and she’s been in and out of jail a lot. As if that weren’t bad enough, she’s also been spending a lot of time in rehab – until the last stint, quite unsuccessfully so.

She was once a very promising young actress but she flushed her reputation and her credibility down the toilet by acting unprofessional on set and in interviews, alienating the people whom she was counting on for paychecks. As she kept it up, the offers stopped coming in.

Before her London move, Lindsay’s comeback was supposed to happen with her appearance on the Oprah special docuseries Lindsay. Before that, with the Lifetime movie “Liz & Dick.” Neither worked.

A source tells Radar Online that doing the London play has helped Lindsay remember what she loved about this job the most: it wasn’t the parties or the drugs or the luxury items, but the connection with the audience, the possibility to create art, to bring to life a character who, until then, had only existed on paper and in someone’s imagination.

So, she worked hard to stay on the right track and she is positive that this “second” change she’s getting will be for good.

No more messing around

“Lindsay is doing better than she has in years!” says a close friend. “Lindsay is determined to be a movie star again. Lindsay plans to return home to her family in New York for a bit and is then heading to LA because she has three big movies that she is getting ready to star in.”

The friend insists that the “old Lindsay” is back: the one who impressed directors and cast members with her professionalism and talent, not the one who’d stumble out of clubs intoxicated out of her mind.

Lindsay has learned her lesson, or so would the friend have us believe and she knows that, for real this time, this will be her final chance. You really can’t make promises that you don’t keep until the end of time, and Lindsay knows it.

But is she sober?

Here’s the tricky part: though the friend and Lindsay herself promise that she’s sober and focused solely on her work, there still are worrying reports that she hasn’t stopped living the wild life; she just moved it someplace else.

While in London, she was photographed countless times coming out of clubs looking a bit worse for wear, which isn’t exactly a very promising type of behavior for a recovering addict. Insiders also claim that she’s back to her previous lifestyle in terms of doing drugs, but that she’s a bit more careful right now in hiding it.

She’s just as unprofessional too, missing a couple of shows because she was too sick from the drugs and the booze, if we’re to believe rumors.

So, about that comeback now: this is clearly a situation when “time will tell.”
