Now that she’s no longer under house arrest, Lindsay Lohan is looking forward to the future, intending to put her troubled past behind her and focus only on her career. She stresses both these points in her brand new interview for Vanity Fair Italia.

The shoot and the interview were both conducted while Lindsay was still under house arrest, which would explain why none of the shots show her ankle, on which she had a court-ordered alcohol monitoring device.

In the interview, Lohan talks about being sentenced to jail, being hounded by the paparazzi and persecuted by the media solely because she’s a celebrity and always having a gun in the house, just in case someone tries to break in.

“I want to be an actress and I’m good. You learn from your mistakes, right?” Lindsay says of her goal in life starting from now on.

She will also strive to push her personal life in the background, so as to allow her fans to see only her achievements in film – a statement Lindsay made several times before and not once managed to stick by.

“In October, I’ll begin work. I hope to spend next year on set,” she promises.

As for her much-mediated jail sentence, it would seem Lindsay doesn’t understand – to this day – why she was sent there, or so it seems from the fragments from the interview circulating online.

“Unless you’re a killer, I don’t see a reason to stay there. I never hurt anyone but myself,” she says.

Lest someone else tries to hurt her, Lindsay always has a gun in the house and she seems determined to use it if need be.

“I’ve got a permit to carry a firearm, but it’s not loaded, I keep it in the house in case someone tries to get in,” she tells VF, taking out the weapon from her favorite fur pink coat.
