Lindsay Lohan just totaled a rental Porsche after crashing into an 18-wheeler. She was driving the car and both she and her passenger, her personal assistant, were rushed to the hospital for investigations.

The actress was released some hours ago and, according to online reports, she was fine. She did not require medical assistance on the spot, though both she and her PA were injured to some extent.

TMZ has photos of the Porsche – and it was badly damaged in the collision. It also has it from reliable sources that Lindsay was not responsible for the crash.

“Lindsay Lohan was driving her black Porsche on the Pacific Coast Highway in Santa Monica when it slammed into the back of an 18-wheeler around noon. The Porsche is totaled. The passenger window was shattered and the bumper was fully off her car,” TMZ writes.

An ambulance arrived almost immediately on the scene, but Lindsay did not go to the hospital in it. She must have called a friend to drive her to the ER for tests and investigations.

“Law enforcement sources tell us Lindsay and the truck driver were not under the influence of alcohol,” the celebrity e-zine informs.

However, even so, the crash could spell some trouble for Lindsay, since the Porsche wasn't her car but a rental.

“Eyewitnesses tell us both Lindsay and her assistant (the passenger) were bleeding and bruised, and the assistant is in an ambulance en route to the hospital. Lindsay and her assistant were both conscious after the accident,” TMZ notes.

“Lindsay was driving the car, and we're told she's saying that the accident wasn't her fault, claiming the 18-wheeler cut her off,” adds the same media outlet.

While this isn't the first time that Lindsay is involved in a car crash, it's her most severe yet. At the same time, there is no indication she was responsible for it, unlike the previous times when she wrecked a car.

Reports online say that Lindsay was discharged from the hospital in a few hours after the crash, looking in good condition.

In fact, she was feeling well enough to head back to the studio to shoot for Lifetime's Elizabeth Taylor biopic “Liz & Dick.”

As of the time of writing, Lindsay had not commented on the accident in any way.
