Gloomy platformer Limbo might be making its way to the PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system from Sony soon, after having just been launched on Microsoft's Xbox One.

The game is one of the indie classics, being universally appreciated by fans and critics for its creepy and moody vibe, and since its initial launch on the Xbox Live Marketplace, for the Xbox 360 home console, it has managed to jump to a lot more platforms.

The game is now available on the PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, Windows PC, Mac OS X, iOS, Linux and Xbox One platforms, in addition to the Xbox 360, and according to a recent listing, the title might also be headed for the PlayStation 4.

Still waiting for the Android port

Developer Playdead's platformer has recently been spotted in a PEGI rating in Europe, listing PS4 as the platform, which most likely means that a launch isn't too far away.

The rating reveals that the game contains realistic looking violence and deems it suitable for persons aged 16 years and over.

The game follows a young boy on a quest to find his sister in a dark, foreboding world of shadow and surreal visions, laden with perils to overcome and puzzles to solve.

It's considered one of the great early titles that sparked the surge of the indie video game movement, and it appears that PlayStation 4 owners who missed it during its prime will get a chance to catch up sometime soon.
