Lily Collins, actress, fashionista, and model, has been named the global ambassador for Lancome, taking over from current spokesperson Emma Watson, probably best known to fans for her Hermione part in the “Harry Potter” film franchise.

Since she started getting major parts in big budget Hollywood productions, Collins has also been getting a lot of attention for her fashion style and gorgeous face.

She’s perfect for Lancome, voices online are now saying, not-so-secretly wishing the brand would go for retro styling in the first ads, pretty much like you can see in the photo attached to this article, which ran in a recent issue of Glamour magazine.

Us Weekly confirms the new modeling gig for Lily, saying that she is to start on the job in January next year, when Emma’s contract is up.

No figure for the deal has been announced or even speculated on.

“The daughter of '80s pop singer Phil Collins has been a fixture on the fashion circuit, making front row appearances at Fashion Weeks in both New York and Paris this year. With her bold makeup and strong brows, she's also a favorite with beauty editors, making her an ideal choice for the brand,” Us writes.

Lancome seems to think the same and it’s been using Twitter to get followers up to speed with Lily’s career so far, the same publication reports.

“@LilyCollins made her breakout film in The Blind Side. Did you know that @LilyCollins is the granddaughter of a ballerina and the daughter of musician #PhilCollins,” Lancome tweeted.

While she’s never made a secret that she’s her father’s daughter, in older interviews, Lily went to great lengths to point out that, unlike other kids in similar situations, she made it to where she was without any kind of help.

Lily wanted her fans to know that her acting career was not a fruit of Hollywood nepotism and that she was willing to prove her worth to anyone who doubted it.

Unfortunately, while she enjoyed a solid turn with “Mirror Mirror,” her most recent film, “Mortal Instruments: City of Bones” failed to impress both critics and fans. Right now, talks of an initially planned sequel have stalled because of disappointing box office returns.
