Light Bound is an upcoming action-packed classic arcade experience, offering local multiplayer arena skirmishes for up to four players, and a strikingly colorful visual experience.

The levels are procedurally generated, making for high replayability value and adding a touch of freshness to each and every gaming sessions, and the high levels of customization make it a welcome addition to the roster of party games.

The game is being developed by Canadian studio Garden Knight Games, who has just launched the crowdfunding campaign for Light Bound on Kickstarter, aiming to raise a modest sum of money to fund the project.

The developer has set up a playable demo of Light Bound, featuring an early build of the game that encompasses the basic gameplay mechanics and offers a taste of the fast-paced action, for prospective backers to try out before committing to a pledge.

"In Light Bound, players are thrown into a randomly generated arena where they have to find and collect weapons and do battle against each other. The arena can only be seen where lit up by players and weapons. Players can create custom games using a variety of configurable options," the game blurb informs.

In a nutshell, Light Bound has around 8 million possible game configurations, and the number is growing. Players have an arsenal of 6 different weapons at their disposal, each one having normal and epic shots, as well as 3 available character upgrades.

Light Bound features intuitive and simple controls, and offers an intense arcade-like experience, including single player modes where players have to fight against an endless barrage of computer controlled opponents, in the ultimate survival challenge, attempting to top the high score leaderboards.

The game started out as a game jam creation, assembled over a weekend at the Toronto Global Game Jam, and the devs then noticed that they ended up with something much more satisfying than they had expected, and decided to expand the concept and make it capitalize on its potential.

The title of the game comes from each of the playable characters being a different color blob that emits a strong glow in its color, being the only source of light on the level and being used for navigating the arena.

The Light Bound Greenlight page on Steam is also up, for those members of the community who wish to express their support in securing the game a spot on Valve's worldwide distribution platform.
