Wearables are the fastest growing sector in tech today and the field seems to be expanding more and more. For example, yesterday we saw the wearable smart capacitive pen for tablets and smartphones.

Anyway, today we present you with the head-mounted camera called the LifeLogger. Granted, wearable cameras designed to help users record special moments in their life aren't exactly a novelty, but this particular model is a headset, letting you record things as they come from the first-person perspective.

LifeLogger was briefly teased at CES a few months ago and now the creators of the project have turned to Kickstarter in order to gather the necessary funds to send this little camera off into production.

The camera is capable of shooting up to eight hours of video and comes equipped with built-in GPS and Wi-Fi so it can work in concert with an iOS or Android app.

And if you want to share what’s going on at this very moment with loved ones far away, the camera also offers live streaming capabilities, so anyone with a tablet or smartphone can instantly see what you’re up to.

Because the camera has built-in Wi-Fi, users won’t have to plug in the device anywhere. The videos are automatically uploaded in cloud, neatly organized by GPS coordinates. The system will also apply face detection / voice recognition in order to pick out key moments.

Another cool feature is being able to choose a friend’s face from a particular thumbnail and then be shown all the videos featuring that person. Alternatively, you can even search for a particular piece of text in an overheard conversation. How neat is that?

The LifeLogger is available with a 32GB SD card for on-board storage of 720p video (at 30fps) and 5MP shoots.

Recording with the camera is pretty easy and is achieved hands free so you’ll have the opportunity to actively participate in what’s happening. Bursts of up to ten photos per second and time-lapse photos of up to one per minute are also supported.

LifeLogger is currently in its early stages of development and we’re pretty curious if the real-deal will actually match the claims made by the start-up.

If you think this project has some potential, you can head over to Kickstarter and pledge $169 / €123 to secure that one of the first cameras available will be shipped out to you and no one else.
