Fujitsu PC Asia Pacific announced a few days ago the release of its LifeBook U2010, a successor of the Ultra Mobile PC (UMPC), the LifeBook U1010. The new machine is intended to enchant mobile professionals, glamazons and urbanites with its technological power, and with five color options meant to fit their lifestyle.

"Last year, Fujitsu made UMPC history with its landmark, feature-rich LifeBook U1010. Continuing in its unique 3-in-1 tablet/notebook/handheld PC tradition, the amazing LifeBook U2010 cements our triumph in this field as it replicates the ingenuity of the U1010 as well as accentuating its lifestyle features with an array of distinctive colors and wireless music on-demand, all while remaining fashionably small and powerfully compact," said Mr. YS Ng, Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing.

LifeBook U2010 comes with a wireless feature that allows connectivity between the machine and any FM radio, enabling users to listen to their favorite songs straight from the notebook's music library. The notebook can be connected either to the home entertainment system or to the car's stereo system to play aloud collections of songs uploaded from personal CDs. Users can enjoy their music anywhere, without previously having to burn the songs to a new disc.

The Fujitsu LifeBook U2010 comes with a SuperFine 5.6" WXGA 1280 x 800 screen resolution with 300nits brightness. A one-touch Raku Raku button allows an easy zoom for optimal viewing. The available colors for this small machine are Ocean Black, Pink Gold, Cool Silver, Fuchsia Red and Luminous Blue. It weighs only 610g, but meets all the expectations of a multimedia-centric machine with all the entertainment and communication features required, including a built-in 1.3 Mega Pixel camera and digital microphone.

Other features of this ultra-portable machine include finger-friendly Microsoft Origami Experience 2.0 application, which allows quick touch access to any favorite multimedia program. Music, videos, photos and games will be easily accessible, as LifeBook U2010 comes with optimized browsing characteristics. The battery of the machine can last as much as eight hours, while the wireless features and Bluetooth v2.1 connectivity considerably reduce work downtime for business travelers on the go. Also, the LifeBook U2010 comes with up to 60GB or the option of 64GB SSD storage space, and it can be easily used as a tablet PC at anytime.

This ultra-portable is designed to meet the demands of an entire series of users. It packs up an Intel Centrino Atom processor Z530 (1.6GHz) and features the Intel System Controller Hub, which allow it to be more power efficient. A suite of security features including a 2-level BIOS lock and an Anti-Theft Lock Slot guarantees confidentiality of personal files. The included Fingerprint Sensor allows files to be encrypted with a wipe of a pre-registered fingerprint.

The Fujitsu LifeBook U2010 has also been designed with a cleaner environment in mind. It complies with the European Union's Restriction of Hazardous Substances directive (RoHS), and promises a healthier environment. The company is also a sponsor of the Climate Savers Computing Initiative, and fights for more energy-efficient computing.
