Publisher Focus Home Interactive and developer Dontnod Entertainment announce Vampyr, a brand new upcoming role-playing game set after the events of World War One.

The game is currently in development and the details are so far very scarce. There is no prospective release date or word about platforms, but we'll keep our eyes open.

Players will be stepping into the shoes of a doctor returning home from the Great War, finding his home town afflicted by the Spanish Flu.

When one of his patients bites him, he finds himself transformed into a vampire and then has to face the quandaries of his nature, as his vampire side wants to kill and feed, and his doctor side wants to heal people.

The game's tagline is "Take blood. Save a life," which is not saying much, but the developers hinted at various moral choices that players have to make while enjoying the game.

Vampyr will be created by a second development team within the studio, as Dontnod is also currently in the process of releasing Life Is Strange, an episodic adventure game exploring the ramifications of being able to alter the flow of time, due out at the end of the month, coming to PC and consoles.
