14 DAY TRIAL // The Document Foundation has rolled out LibreOffice 4.2.0 for Mac OS X, Windows, and Linux. Users who downloaded RC 4 earlier this week don’t need to download or reinstall.
Released moments ago, LibreOffice 4.2.0 Final “is bit-for-bit identical to the 4.2.0 Release Candidate 4, so you don't need to download or reinstall if you have that version already,” according to The Document Foundation.
The Mac version doesn't include the mediawiki extension, while “the distribution for Windows is an international build, so you can choose the user interface language that you prefer,” according to the release notes.
OpenOffice installations should be erased before installing LibreOffice 4.2.0 (Windows users only). Linux users are advised to use OpenJDK.
Other changes include new menu entries and other minor stuff. The Document Foundation asks users to note that “If you miss something, that may be due to the use of customized menu settings from your previous LibreOffice installation.”

“This is the first release from the 4.2 branch of LibreOffice which contains many exciting new features, and is targeted for early adopters and private power users — for conservative requirements, we refer you to LibreOffice 4.1.4 from the previous series,” says The Document Foundation.
“This version of LibreOffice is prepared with care and presented with pride by the LibreOffice community. PLEASE NOTE that, since this is the very first version in the series, make sure to read the release notes,” the development team adds.
The system requirements remain unchanged: 512 MB RAM, 1.5 GB available hard disk space, 1024 x 768 resolution.
