Though it doesn't usually have any qualms about keeping a low profile, Lian Li occasionally breaks cover and grabs a fair bit of attention through innovative concepts, as it was the case at this year's CeBIT expo in Hanover, Germany. Back then, the company put on display an unusual test bench/mini case that looked like a red spider, complete with multiple legs. That chassis, however, only recently became available and, as a follow-up, Lian Li has now introduced an additional model, known as the PC-Q08B.

The PC-Q08B is a compact mini-tower case and the third Lian Li chassis to launch this month. The PTSTOP PC-T1 (the aforementioned spider case) became available last week, while the Mini-Q PC-Q06 quasi-cubic enclosure launched just a couple of days ago. This makes the PC-Q08B the youngest of the lot, even though, technically, it is the biggest (not counting the spider's legs). Measuring 227 (W) x 272 (H) x 345 (D) mm, the case is built out of aluminum, weighs 2.73 kg and is designed for use by HTPCs and any other small form-factor system.

To that end, the mini-tower boasts an exposed 5.25-inch bay, an HDD cage with anti-vibration screws that can accommodate six storage units, a 140mm blue or red LED fan at the front and an additional, 120mm spinner on top. Furthermore, the chassis boasts a front I/O panel featuring audio ports and even a couple of USB 3.0 connectors.

Lian Li didn't waste time with previews and updates, which means that this newest offspring is already prepared to be adopted by any SFF PC enthusiast. Those meaning to acquire it will be interested in knowing that it comes in three color options (silver, black and red colors, just like its two predecessors), and it has been listed on Newegg with a price tag of $119.99.
