Lexar Media, one of the world's leading vendors of memory products, has announced today the launch of its new Lexar JumpDrive SAFE S3000 FIPS and JumpDrive SAFE S3000 USB flash drives, designed to provide consumers with the means to store data in a secure manner. According to the Fremont, California-based company, the FIPS 140-2, Level 3-validated, enterprise-class drives, which have been co-developed with Gemalto, are the first to protect the user's data using the continuous AES 256-bit hardware encryption. In addition, they have also been designed to meet the military 810-F waterproof standards.

“The JumpDrive SAFE S3000 line of secure USB flash drives safeguard information with unsurpassed data protection technology and enterprise-class features that can be easily integrated into any business environment,” explained Jyh Chau, senior product marketing manager, Lexar Media. “The receipt of the FIPS 140-2 Level 3 validation is further proof that the advanced data security capabilities, coupled with the smart card technology, make the JumpDrive SAFE S3000 line among the most secure USB flash drives available today.”

According to the specifications of the JumpDrive SAFE 3000 FIPS, users will be able to take advantage of speeds of up to 30MB/s read and 22MB/s write. The drive is validated to meet the specifications of the FIPS 140-2 Level 3 and also meets the waterproof MIL-STD-810F standards. In addition, it comes with onboard AES hardware encryption, 256-bit encryption key and a chain block cipher (CBC) mode. The JumpDrive SAFE 3000 is somewhat similar, in terms of specifications, reaching read speeds of up to 30MB/s and write speeds of only 8MB/s. The drive offers the same data encryption features.

The JumpDrive S3000 FIPS is available in capacities of 2GB, 4GB and 8GB, while the JumpDrive SAFE S3000 is available in 2GB, 4GB, 8GB, and 16GB.
