14 DAY TRIAL // Formula One racing driver Lewis Hamilton decided it was time for a change to his image. The 29-year-old attended the IWC Gala in Geneva yesterday with significantly longer hair, which he's probably growing out during the winter months.
Usually, Hamilton can be seen with a very closely cropped hairdo, to the point where it looks like a beard stubble. This time, he decided to experiment a little with his hair and let it grow into a mini-afro that showed off his curly locks.
On the racing circuit, having little to no hair can be a blessing, as wearing a helmet for hours on end can really bring down any 'do, and squash it into a messy pile. That must have been one of the reasons Hamilton kept it in such strict check.
The other one is a visibly receding hairline, which, unfortunately, is made even more obvious by his new hair style. Although now he's got something to comb, it doesn't necessarily compliment his facial features.
This isn't the first change of look Hamilton has been playing around with. On his Twitter account, the driver posted a picture of himself in a bathroom with some facial hair added in the mix. The photo was captioned “Boss,” although it's not clear what he's referring to.
Keeping off the track for the time being, Lewis seems to have some time to experiment with fashion. His Instagram account has photographic evidence of this, as he posted pictures of his new IWC Aquatimer Perpetual Calendar watch.
This new hairdo might also be an attempt to attract the attention of on-again-off-again girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger. At the moment, they seem to be in the “on-again” phase, having recently been spotted on a skiing holiday in Aspen over the Christmas holidays.
