Sugar proved its complexity once again, demonstrating that it can do more than just satisfying our cravings for sweet things.

A very inspirational conference highlighted creative moments which celebrated the junction between sugar and glass. Who would have thought about actual sugar lamps before?

Chef Albert Adrià and glassware designer Xavi Vega, pastry chef Christian Escribà and Franceso Morace amazed the public gathered at the industrial space event in Palo Alto, Barcelona, after presenting their innovative concepts.

The exhibition's main objective was to showcase items manufactured from less material, that highlighted the connection between glass and food. In the end, the experts were able to brag with their one-of-a kind, recyclable and biodegradable masterpieces.

Vega showed that he believes in eco-friendly values, after he designed amazing objects using glass. All the items came from sustainable resources and suggested the artist's respect for the environment.
