AOL is not only a company which struggles to expand its offering into the European market but it also targets new consumers using special applications intended to run on multiple platforms. Today, AOL officially introduced a new version of AOL Desktop for Mac, a new technology which brings a handy toolbar for the Apple customers offering one-click access to AOL services. What's most interesting is that AOL sustains the program is already Leopard-ready which means it will also be compatible with the latest Mac OS X coming in the near future.

"AOL Desktop for Mac reinvigorates the AOL experience on the Mac platform," said Steve Murphy, Senior Vice President, Software Applications, AOL. "We've created this new software to specifically appeal to our Mac users, and are excited to offer them a fully-integrated online experience that is intuitive, modern, and light on the desktop."

In case you never installed AOL Desktop for Mac, you should really give it a try when the new product is launched because it is worth it as it is able to provide unexpected features just for your own computer pleasure.

AOL strives to become one of the top players in many markets but until now, it has remained a powerful company defeated by the giant's popularity. For example, AOL offers a mail technology which bundles unlimited storage capacity but, even if this feature is quite attractive, the service failed to become popular due to same offering coming from the Sunnyvale giant Yahoo. In case you missed the news, Yahoo also included unlimited storage size for the Yahoo Mail registered members so AOL has no chance to steal the same category of users targeted by the giant portal.

In addition, the super search engine Google also works on its Gmail mail technology which is supposed to get some new and stunning features very soon but until now, the company refused to provide additional details about its plans.
