It seems that Lenovo?s business is improving all the time. And because of that, so do the products they use. But at the same time, Lenovo insists on following the trends. And that can?t be too good for the image of the brand. Especially since many Lenovo followers come from an age where Thinkpads were known as IMBs.

And the latest trend is?.widescreen. And of course it wasn?t going to take them long to announce that they managed to ?improve? the T60 by incorporating a widescreen instead of a 4:3 aspect ratio one. Widescreen notebooks already dominate the market, so Lenovo products are all doomed to switch to widescreen. Also keep in mind that rivals HP and Dell have already transitioned the majority of its business laptops to the widescreen format which makes Lenovo?s move quite predictable.

The 5.1 pound notebook features a 15.4" screen available in WXGA and WSXGA+ resolutions and uses Intel Core 2 Duo CPUs paired with an ATI Mobility Radeon X1500 GPU and supports up to 4GB of DDR2 memory. Wireless options include Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, 802.11 (b/g/n capabilities) and even 3G WWAN module.

There are several advantages when using a widescreen starting with the more enjoyable movie experience (since most movies come in widescreen format) and continuing with more space packed in a smaller form factor. On the other hand, a widescreen display can often produce distortion when rendering games at a fixed resolution (widescreen resolutions are not standard) and can also feel very unpleasant when rendering webpages written for standard resolutions.

The final product is already shipping to stores and channel suppliers. As for the price, T60 will have a starting price of $1,399.
