Lenovo has been releasing products one after another, setting the stage for a CES booth packed with many products for end-users to feast their eyes upon. After the many ThinkPad, ThinkPad Edge and ThinkPad PC systems besides the Skylight, the company has also refreshed its IdeaPad and IdeaCentre product lines. The new products are meant to “demonstrate the company’s re-energized commitment to personal computing design and engineering specifically for consumers.”

The IdeaPad laptops launched by the company include the IdeaPad S10-3t and S10-3 netbooks, the IdeaPad Y460 and Y560 and the IdeaPad G460 and G560 systems.

The IdeaPad S10-3t ($499.99) and S10-3 ($349.99) netbooks “combine portability, style and industry-leading technologies that will help redefine the netbook category.” The S10-3t can fold and transform into a touch tablet thanks to its 10.1-inch capacitive touchscreen capable of swiveling at 180 degrees. Both netbooks run the Intel Atom N470 chip and have 320GB of HDD storage. They even boast the DirectShare file synchronization software, Maplife, Quick Start 2.0 ‘instant on’ and the VeriFace recognition software.

The second set of laptops introduced by the company consists of the G460 and G560. These systems aim to provide a suitable balance between performance and affordability and are oriented towards mainstream consumers. They come with 14-inch and 15.6-inch 16:9 widescreen HD LED displays and run the Intel Next-Generation Core processors.

The configurations have up to 8GB of DDR3, 500GB HDD storage, HD graphics capabilities and even the Intel Turbo Boost technology, which pushes performance to the max. Extra features of the products include the Lenovo Energy management, the OneKy rescue system, the VeriFace recognition software and HDMI connectors. Both systems have prices set at $700.

The Y460 and Y560 are the more performance-oriented laptops that Lenovo released and are priced at $850 and $749.99, respectively. They can make use of Core i7 chips with Turbo Boost and run Windows 7. Seamless combinations of SSD and HDD storage allow for fast boot-up times and better application performance. These mobile computers will allow users to choose the highest performing components and will feature switchable graphics, OneKey Theatre II audio-visual controls, JBL-designed speakers and Dolby Home Theater surround sound, as well as a SlideNav intelligent touch-sensitive slide bar. The Y460 and Y560 will even feature an ambient light sensor, which adjusts the display brightness automatically.

“Our new Idea PCs are the next step in our exciting new worldwide product portfolio designed with the consumer in mind,” Liu Jun, senior vice president, Idea Product Group, Lenovo, said. “These additions to our Idea portfolio demonstrate Lenovo’s commitment to giving our customers the capabilities they expect, at prices they can afford, while showcasing our forward-thinking innovations.”

The IdeaPad S10-3 and S10-3t netbooks, and the Lenovo G460 and G560 laptops will enter availability before the end of the month, with the Y560 and V460 set for March. They will be sold through www.lenovo.com.
