The tablet will be targeted at business users

Lenovo’s tablet business is growing fast and this is most likely due to its Yoga Android tablet bunch. The slates come with an innovative hinge design that allows them to sit by themselves and offer decent specifications.

Back at MWC 2014, Lenovo took the opportunity to update the Yoga 10 model, giving it a full HD display and a better processor, so over-night the tab turned into a worthy business slate too.

But recently, we told you Lenovo seeks to extend its Yoga portfolio with a new tablet that’s designed especially for enterprise use.

Lenovo is thinking big

It appears Lenovo is following in Samsung’s steps here. Back in January at CES 2014, the Korean tech giant introduced a line of professional tablets, in the form of the NotePRO and TabPRO lineup, which came in huge form factors (the largest being 12.2-inch).

Well, Lenovo seems to think business users need even bigger tablets, so it is prepping to take the market by storm with a massive 13.3-inch Yoga tablet.

The device will be marketed as the Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 Pro 13 and we saw it surface before. Now, curtesy of the folks at TabTech we are able to provide you with a few images showing the device in all its glory.

At some point we reviewed the Samsung Galaxy NotePRO 12.2 tablet and one of the faults we found with it, was that because of its huge size, holding the slate quickly became strenuous.

Samsung doesn't sell a dedicated stand for the tablet, although there are a few third-party options available, but this means paying extra for an already expensive tablet.

Lenovo's new tablet can sit by itself

The Lenovo Yoga tablet solves this issue from the get-go. Because of its original hinge design, the slate can hold itself upright, so you don’t have to hold it with your hands.

As for specifications, the Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 Pro 13 arrives with a spacious 13-inch display with full HD resolution (1920 x 1200 pixels). Under the hood will reside an Intel Bay Trail processor, clocked at 1.86GHz fitted with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory.

For some reason, Lenovo will not be making use of Intel’s latest Broadwell chip platform, which we think might have been more appropriate for a business-bound tablet.

The tablet will most likely operate on Android 4.4 KitKat, or depending on when it is launched, it could even come boasting Android L.

We don’t know when we’re going to see the tablet on the market, but be prepared to spend quite a hefty amount of money on the device. The Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 Pro 13 is said to go on sale for around €550 / $699.
