When Lenovo launched its latest tablet on the market, the Yoga, it did so in style. Popular Two and a Half Men actor Ashton Kutcher introduced the device, which brings an innovative design and which can be used in three distinct modes: hold, tilt and stand.

One of the most interesting claims that Lenovo has made about the tablet is that its battery life can provide enough power for up to 18 hours of work and play.

Now Consumer Reports (CR) has tested the device in order to see if the battery does indeed last that long. And the results showed that the company’s claims were quite accurate. The 8-inch Lenovo Yoga has been proved to really sustain a battery life of 18.5 hours, while the Yoga 10 “only” has 15.1 hours.

CR is crediting Lenovo’s use of cylinder-shaped lithium-ion battery for the success. Most tablets use a lithium-polymer battery, but Lenovo has done things a little bit different here and with marvelous effects.

The report says that the Yoga is the tablet with the longest battery life they have tested so far. Up until now, the Google Nexus 7 had the most proficient battery, capable of lasting up to 13.5 hours.
