Company reveals in Twitter posts

Lenovo may still have some serious issues with customers of the ThinkPad X60 and X61 portable systems, but the company marches on and continues to unveil new products that are designed to take advantage of the latest hardware components on the market. In two recent posts on its official Twitter account, the PC vendor has revealed a couple of details on two of its upcoming products, both of which are expected to be officially unveiled in the upcoming weeks.

Unfortunately, despite the fact that the company unveiled these early details on the Q100/Q110 nettops and the D400 home server, there's not a lot to go on for the time being. Both products should get their formal introduction later this week, although the company was reluctant to detail the availability date of its new desktop systems.

First off, we have the IdeaCentre D400, which should be Lenovo's first home server, featuring support for up to four different 3.5-inch hard disk drives. The four-bay home server also boasts a black plastic chassis, shaped like a cube. In addition, users will be able to take advantage of the four USB 2.0 ports and an eSATA port, that is, when the D400 will be officially rolled out on the market. Despite the high storage capacity that it will deliver, the new home server will only consume about 40W, which leads one to believe that we are, in fact, looking at another Atom-powered device.

As for the Q100 and Q110 nettops, the technical specifications are still under wraps, but we do have a strong feeling that this system will be based on the much-hyped NVIDIA Ion platform. That is because, if you take a closer look at the design of the Q100/Q110 nettop, you'll see the resemblance to the Pegatron Ion system.
