Chinese mobile phone maker Lenovo is reportedly getting ready for the release of a new flagship Android-based smartphone, and might do so as soon as August 5, the latest reports on the matter suggest.

The mobile phone is now said to be planned for release under the name of Lenovo K920, after it has emerged online a few times before as Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro.

Despite the fact that it has been rumored quite a few times before, no official confirmation on the device has been provided until now.

Today, however, Wang Yan, Lenovo’s Marketing General Manager, has posted on his Weibo account a teaser regarding the upcoming availability of the smartphone, suggesting that we’ll see a Lenovo K920 going official at the beginning of next month.

Although Lenovo’s official hasn’t provided additional info on what the new handset will have to offer in terms of hardware specs, some info on the matter did emerge before, when the device was said to be released as Vibe Z2 Pro.

According to GforGames, the mobile phone could sport a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon MSM8974-AC processor paired with 3GB of RAM, which means that it will be capable of providing users with appealing performance capabilities at all times.

Moreover, the Lenovo K920 / Vibe Z2 Pro is expected to land on shelves with a 6-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering a Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution.

The specs list of the upcoming mobile phone is also said to include 32GB of internal memory, yet no mention of a microSD memory card slot has been made as of now.

On the back, the smartphone should feature a 16-megapixel camera, most probably capable of recording videos in full HD resolution, if not in 4K, paired with a 5MP front-facing camera that will prove great when it comes to taking selfies or making video calls while on the go.

The entire set of usual connectivity capabilities should also be included inside the device, spanning from 4G LTE to 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a built-in GPS receiver.

Lenovo K920 is also said to run under the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system, though we suspect that the Chinese mobile phone maker will also pack it with its own set of custom applications and exclusive software features.

Unfortunately, no info on when the new device might arrive on the market has been provided by now, though Lenovo will certainly reveal specifics on the matter on August 5, when it will make the Lenovo K920 official. Stay tuned for more on this.
