The laptop should arrive on the market next month

Lenovo is the world’s biggest PC manufacturer, but did you know the company also makes gaming laptops? Actually, we saw the company roll out a product pertaining to the category at IFA 2014.

We’re talking about the IdeaPad Y70 which is a gaming notebook arriving with a touch screen display. While Lenovo will be marketing this machine for a pretty considerable price-tag, the company is also making a few options available for those customers who don’t want to spend a fortune purchasing a gaming lappy.

Do you remember the IdeaPad Z50?

Lenovo introduced the IdeaPad Z50 line of budget gaming notebooks back in April, but the producing company only offered up to Intel Core i7 processor options.

Now the PC maker is extending the range of possibilities that customers can take advantage of in the computing department.

The notebook arrives with 15.6-inch display with full HD resolution (1920 x 1200 pixels). Given the fact that most device makers are starting to use 2K or 4K panels for their products, it is only right that the full HD standard should replace the previous HD one.

Instead of the Intel chip options, Lenovo is throwing in the mix an AMD quad-core APU from the FX family fitted with up to 16GB of GB DDR3L memory, classic or hybrid hard disks up to 1TB and backed up by AMD Radeon R7-M260DX with 2GB of RAM (as seen at Notebook Italia).

The lappy also takes advantage of Dolby Home Theatre technology in the audio department, and among the other specs, we find three USB ports (one is the new 3.0 standard), VGA, HDMI output, plug for connecting to Ethernet networks, audio jack for headphones and microphone and optical DVD drive.

The design of the gaming machine is nice and clean, featuring simple lines and a soft-touch finish which gives the design a pretty sleek appearance.

In some regions Lenovo will be offering some free game titles with the lappy

As for availability, Lenovo said the Z50-75 would hit the market somewhere between October and November, so customers will be able to pick it up just in time for the holiday season.

For the moment, we don’t know for how much Lenovo will market the lappy in the US, but in Europe the base model will start at €599 / $759. Given the fact that prices in Europe are usually higher, we should expect the laptop to arrive with a cheaper price tag in the States.

In the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East and Africa) Lenovo will throw in two free games titles to be included with the purchase free of charge, like Thief or Darksiders. The promotion will remain valid until 31 March 2015.
