Lenovo, one of the world's leading vendors of personal computer systems, has recently announced the introduction of its new all-in-one C100 desktop PC, designed to take advantage of the low-power specifications of Intel's highly successful Atom platform. Spotted back in early August, the new system will fit a low-power Atom processor inside an 18.5-inch 16:9 LCD monitor, to provide users with a choice for a home computer system that is energy efficient and offers a basic home computing experience.

“Packed with cool experiences and available at a very affordable price, the C100 expands Lenovo’s consumer offering for the fast growing all-in-one market segment,” said Dion Weisler, vice president, Business Operations, Lenovo. “The C100 is simple to set up and easy to use, ideal for those seeking a convenient way to enhance their digital lifestyle.”

According to the some of the key features that have been highlighted by the company, the new C100 all-in-one Atom system has been designed to provide customers with a choice for a single-core Atom 230 processor, or a more performance-capable, dual-core Atom 330 CPU. Measuring in at 18.5 x 14.5 x 4 inches, the new all-in-one from Lenovo boasts a 18.5-inch, 16:9 widescreen monitor with a two-inch screen depth design. In addition, the system also offers a built-in DVD burner/reader and four USB ports.

Although the desktop PC market isn't doing very well, compared to the notebook segment, research firm IDC believes that the all-in-one desktop category will record a significant growth, especially in the U.S. market. The new C100 all-in-one comes to provide an alternative for that segment, as it is already available for a starting price tag of US$399, through the company's website and various retailers.
