Leica X2 has received quite a few special edition versions in the last couple of months, including the Gagosian Limited Edition and Tokyo Station Marunouchi Limited Edition.

Fedrigoni, one of the oldest bespoke paper manufacturers in the world, announced recently on its Facebook page a new Leica X2 Special Edition camera made in collaboration with the company's German branch.

The new Leica X2 Fedrigoni Special Edition comes with a unique “paper skin” that uses the firm's high-quality embossed paper called “Constellation Jade.”

In order to meet quality standards, the paper has gone through rigorous testing, including fast and slow extreme temperature variations from -40°C / -40°F to 70°C / 158°F, heavy abrasion, and Acetone resistance. The results of the tests were more than promising, the paper proving to have attributes similar with the highest quality leather.

Only 25 units of the new Leica X2 Fedrigoni Special Edition will be produced, and all of them will come wrapped in a unique packaging resembling a book. Price is yet to be announced.
