Not long after Barbie embraced a career in science and became a Mars explorer, Lego unveiled its first female scientist.

Her name is Professor C. Bodin, and she's part and parcel of Lego's Minifigure Series 11, Live Science reports. The series became available for purchase in stores across the US this past September 1.

Check out the picture above to get an idea of what the Professor looks like. As you can easily notice, she's wearing glasses and a lab coat. What's more, she's holding two Erlenmeyer flasks.

Apart from some lipstick, she isn't wearing any makeup. Cause, you know, she's not into such trivialities. Science is all she cares about.

As was to be expected, real-life female researchers and scientists welcomed Lego's decision to roll out this figure.

“I think this figure is a positive step because it portrays a woman in a STEM [science, technology, engineering and math] career without resorting to gender stereotyping by making her pink or calling her a ‘lady scientist,’” Elizabeth Sweet, a doctoral candidate in sociology at the University of California, Davis told LiveScience in an email.
