Rockstar Games has released the Legends and Killers Pack for Red Dead Redemption on the Xbox Live Marketplace and PlayStation Network for 800 Microsoft Points or ten dollars. It adds new locations, characters, weapons and Achievements/Trophies.

This new piece of downloadable content is meant to enhance the multiplayer component on Rockstar's latest opus with ninte new map locations.

They have been balanced especially for multiplayer challenges for the various team-based or free-for-all modes of Red Dead Redemption.

These new areas include the fog-filled riverside at Thieves’ Landing and the modern metropolis of Blackwater, catering to all of the tastes of the Red Dead Redemption fans.

Eight classic characters from the original Red Dead Revolver join the game's multiplayer roster, including the well known Red Harlow, Jack Swift, Annie Stoakes and Shadow Wolf.

The new weapon is called the Tomahawk and it is projectile based. It is usable also in free roaming mode and the single player campaign, besides the multiplayer.

“With Legends & Killers we wanted to provide a wealth of new content for fans of Red Dead Redemption,” said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games.

“We took care to pick out areas that were unique and exciting and then polished them to provide the best possible multiplayer experience,” he added

Red Dead Redemption was released at the end of May this year and has become the best selling console title of the year, mainly because of its amazing scope, world and storyline.

Rockstar has recently started to really work on the game's multiplayer component as many have found it lacking at launch. Much of the upcoming downloadable content is aimed at correcting this mistake, adding both cooperative and competitive online play options.

The next pack is called Liars and Cheats and it introduces Attack and Defend modes and challenges for multiplayer and more mounted combat and will be released soon for the same price point.
