Turn 10, as the developer, and Microsoft, as the publisher, have announced that their upcoming racing title Forza Motorsport 3 is set to get a downloadable content pack adding both a slew of new cars and some fresh tracks to the game. The add on, called Legends Cars Pack, will be free for all those who pick up a new copy of Forza Motorsport 3 and will be offered exclusively on the Xbox 360, as the game is.

Turn 10 really chose extraordinary vehicles for the Legends Car Pack. Here's the full list: the ’65 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTA; the ’64 Aston Martin DB5 Vantage; the ’81 BMW M1; the ’60 Chevrolet Corvette; the ’69 Dodge Charger; the ’57 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa; the ’80 Fiat 131 Abarth; the ’67 Lamborghini Miura P400; the ’71 Nissan Skyline 2000 GT-R and the ’65 Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe. These marvelous cars might prove an important incentive for players to pick up a new copy of the game rather than a used one.

There are also two fresh tracks on which players can test their skills, the Sidewinder Proving Ground and the Benchmark High Speed Ring, the more spectacular of the two. It's basically an old airfield that has been converted to allow racing, permitting for drift races to be staged in the hanger, drag races involving up to eight vehicles and some old school pursuits around the 3.86 miles of the complex.

Forza Motorsport 3 is set to arrive on October 23 and will be offering players a chance to use around 400 cars, amongst them 30 Ferraris and 28 Porches, to race on the 100 tracks included in the game. All the cars can be customized and tuned to the player's needs and the detail for each of them is never before seen in a racing videogame. Microsoft is pitching Forza 3 as the Xbox 360 game to counter the PlayStation 3 Gran Turismo 5, set for a 2010 release date.
