A new Legend of Zelda is coming and it seems that those gaming on the Nintendo Wii might be experiencing the new video game as soon as winter 2011. The game was one of the big reveals at the E3 press conference from the Japanese game company and Shigeru Miyamoto stated that the game will be launched at some point during next year.

Now Eiji Aonuma, who is a producer working on Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, has told the Official Nintendo Magazine in an interview that, “The basis we have now is very, very solid”, adding that, “Early 2011- that is what we're aiming for.” Given how big of a franchise the Zelda games have usually been for Nintendo it's surprising to hear that Nintendo might be ready to launch a new game during months like January and February, when gamers are usually still playing the games launched during the fall of the previous year and when the pockets of gamers are emptier than usual.

A full interview with Aonuma can be found in the most recent issue of the Official Nintendo Magazine, complete with details about the story of the new game and its gameplay. Shigeru Miyamoto demoed the game at E3, with the Wiimote used to control the sword Link uses while the Nunchuk is being linked to the movements of the shield as he fought orcs, eyeballs that floated on their own and some plants that seemed eager to take a bite out of him. Link will also use a slingshot, a bow and arrow combination, a whip and a bomb as he again tries to save Zelda. The whip will be using the Motion Plus add on for the Wiimote.

The plot of the new Zelda game will involve two different worlds that have been separated an one point in the past, with Link, through the use of the Skyward Sword, gaining the ability to travel between them and uncovering their past.
