Still feeling all hyped up about the release of the BlackBerry 8800? Now it seems RIM is working hard to provide all its customers with a new handset dubbed as the 8300 and, according to the rumors, wearing the internal codename Daytona.

The leaked photos attached to this article present you the multimedia friendly, to be launched phone I mentioned above, a device that will feature the same old full featured QWERTY you can find on almost every handset wearing the BlackBerry brand.

The 8300 will sport built-in GPS capabilities, WLAN WiFi connectivity, a software platform which will make you feel like you're using some kind of media center PC application and a 2 megapixel digital camera with flash and a zoom feature that can be controlled via the pearl middle "button".

Being a multimedia oriented device, the 8300 Daytona will also offer an improved multimedia player, an advanced multimedia catalog software, an impressive speaker audio quality and features that will enable the user to run the Media Center like software platform in fullscreen.

According to the same sources, the handset is in tests in Spain and will probably be launched in the same country during May or June this year, most probably with the Vodafone operator putting its stamp on its case.

Vodafone is mentioned as being the probable future mobile carrier that will launch it because this is the operator that usually launches the RIM devices on the mobile market.

The pictures clearly show this is an evaluation unit so, until it will pass the in-house testing RIM has prepared for it, we will have to sit tight and expect other info (or rumors) to hit us.
