The latest “Marvel” release, “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” is still running in theaters (and making a killing at the box office), but the studio is wasting no time in preparing its next blockbuster: the third “Captain America” film, “Civil War,” which will be out in 2016.

The film started principal photography a few weeks ago, with leading man Chris Evans announcing on Twitter he had shaved his beard to get back into character and go kick some villain butt. Speaking of, the film’s big baddie is also on set, as leaked photos confirm.

His name is Crossbones, but you probably know him better as Brock Rumlow, Steve Rogers’ former mate from “Captain America: The Winter Soldier.” He is played by Frank Grillo, and as you can see below, he’s wearing a suit inspired by the original comics, but somehow more menacing.

Fans are very vocal when it comes to superhero suits, particularly if they don’t like the big screen version of them, which is almost always the case. This time, though, they’re digging it.

Marvel long made it clear that it would never go “dark” with its Cinematic Universe, so its heroes are never in too much serious danger. At the very least, villains have to look as if they could inflict serious damage on the heroes even if they never do, and this Crossbones suit manages to be pretty convincing in this regard.

I will find you. All of you. #x A photo posted by Frank Grillo (@frankgrillo1) on May 15, 2015 at 10:56am PDT
