One of the mobile phones that should make an appearance on the United States market on the airwaves of wireless carrier Verizon would be the Motorola DROID 3, an Android-based mobile phone that can be admired in the leaked videos embedded at the bottom of this article.

Rumors on the upcoming availability of this mobile phone emerged since several months ago, but nothing was officially unveiled on it until now.

The same as its predecessors, the Motorola DROID and DROID 2, the upcoming device would sport a sliding form-factor.

It should include a large 4-inch touchscreen display, complemented by a QWERTY keyboard, the same as the previous DROID mobile phones did.

Rumor has it that the upcoming device would include a dual-core application processor, complemented by a PowerVR SGX540 GPU, which means that it would deliver great multimedia capabilities.

At the same time, the Motorola DROID 3 was rumored to arrive on shelves with HDMI-out port, as well as with WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity options, and with support for Verizon's CDMA network.

The mobile phone was also rumored to pack an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, which would support HD video recording, as well as a front-facing camera to enable video calling.

While there is no official confirmation available on the specifications of this device, the leaked videos below confirm some of them.

The handset is expected to arrive on the market with an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with support for full HD video recording, as well as with micro-USB and mini-HDMI ports, placed on the left edge.

The videos below (available courtesy of PhonePads) will also show you a series of design changes with the device, such as the volume keys on the right edge, or the apparent lack of a dedicated camera button.

No reference to the dual-core application processor is made, but the Android-based mobile phone can be clearly seen in the clips, which confirms both its existence, as well as its near launch.
