The phone is more impressive than it looks at first

The first images of Samsung i450 revealed nothing out of the ordinary. It looked like any other average handset far from being capable to stand out. Some new leaked images of the handset have surfaced, revealing an impressive feature that you don't get to see on an everyday basis when it comes to mobile phones.

Samsung i450 has a sliding speaker, most probably on the same case that the keypad goes, only on the upper side of the phone. In order to reveal the hidden speaker, the phone has a dual vertical slide, both up and down. A similar concept has been seen on Nokia's N95 smartphone, which revealed this way some easy music playlist handling buttons.

This newly revealed feature makes it clear that we are dealing with a music phone that should pack some evolved sound rendering performances. Moreover, the handset also includes a click wheel similar to that used in the case of iPods.

Another highly appealing feature on the Samsung i450 music phone is that it comes with HSDPA connectivity capable of providing data transfer speeds of up to 3.6 Mbps. That's one truly high performance that gives the handset owner the possibility of handling his media content at the highest standards.

The slider phone has a 2.3 inch 262k QVGA display screen. Its 2-megapixel camera is capable of providing captures of an average quality. There is also a VGA front camera included for placing video calls and a 1 GB of built-in memory. If that proves to be insufficient, the handset also has a microSD card slot for extra space. Connectivity is available through Bluetooth 2.0 and USB 2.0, features that most evolved mobile phones manage to bring.

Samsung i450 is a tri-band GSM phone, although the market that it will be released on is not yet known. The same goes for its release date, although there are high chances to happen next week, at the consumer electronics show IFA Berlin, opening on the 31st of August.
