As some may already know, Zacate is the codename of the Fusion APUs that AMD will release for the desktop market, and it seems that two of them have already been revealed by reports, namely the Zacate E350 and Zacate E240.

As consumers may know by now, the Fusion architecture is AMD's solutions for merging a CPU with a DirectX 11 GPU on the same die.

Among the accelerated processing units (APUs) that the company is preparing are the Llano, the Ontario and, of course, the Zacate.

The Zacate is intended for desktops and mobile systems and the first models are supposedly slated for release even before the end of the ongoing year.

These chips will be part of the Brazos platform and will be paired with the Hudson D1 fusion controller hub.

Now, a report made by X-Bit Labs claims to have actually uncovered two of them, going by the names of Zacate E350 and Zacate E240.

The Zacate E350 is a dual-core processor, whereas the Zacate E240 has a single core, but both of them share the same overall feature set.

They will integrate DirectX 11 graphics, a single-channel PC3-10600 memory controller (DDR3 1,333 MHz) and the UVD 3.0 video engine.

What's more, the two have a TDP (thermal design power) of up to 18W, but their clock speeds and prices have not been disclosed as of yet.

As for the feature set of the controller hub, the Hudson D1 will provide four PCI Express x1 ports, PCI bus, six Serial ATA-300 ports, 14 USB 2.0 ports and an integrated clock generator.

Ontario and Zacate production should ramp up this year, though the actual launch of the Brazos won't actually be made until early 2011.

Of course, the report on these two chips is just that, a rumor, so one should take it with the obligatory grain of salt, as AMD refused to comment.
