Classic TV sets have long since been forgotten and traded for the more appealing, high-definition systems. The PC-TV era moved television to the computers' desktops, be it analog or digital. Leadtek's WinFast PVR2100 TV tuner comes to answer users' needs for integrated PC and video solutions.

The tuner supports worldwide analog TV reception including PAL, NTSC and SECAM, as well as FM radio stations. The built-in MPEG-2 hardware allows the user to record any TV/video at minimal system resource expenses. This means that you can use the computer with a broad range of software application and keep recording your favorite show at the same time.

The hardware TV Tuner comes bundled with Leadtek's WinFast PVR2 exclusive software application, an one-click solution to control all the tuner's settings. The Live Broadcasting software can turn a PC into a TV broadcasting station allows the user to share the tuner with any Internet-connected desktop or laptop.

Another interesting aspect of the software is the DirectBurn feature that provides the user with the simplest and most direct way to transfer their home videos and movies from miscellaneous input sources (camcorders, VHS tapes, and personal DVDs) directly to CD and DVD optical media.

The TwinView technology provides three display modes: PIP (picture in picture), POP(picture on picture) and PAP(picture and picture) that allows the user to watch multiple TV stations at the same time, on the same desktop. Moreover, the software provides two screens for live TV and captured video, respectively. The Schedule recording options can take care of automatically scheduling TV or FM recordings even while in the Standby or Hibernate (S3/S4) mode.

Leadtek's analog TV tuner is a handy and inexpensive solution for those who aren't great fans of high-definition television (if any). Although the low-budget alternative offers reasonable image quality at an affordable price, more picky users should see one of the digital tuner offerings first.
